Why we need you? Our growth is driving us to strengthen our Billing & Payments team to support our technical evolution and ensure a seamless, reliable billing experience for our customers. Your mission will be to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions while challenging existing functional specifications, in order to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance across our billing systems.

Your Team

We work in a collaborative and international environment where the diversity of Scalers, combined with a spirit of sharing, helps bring new projects to life every day, advancing our ambitions together. You will be part of a team of 10 people, working on both technical and functional projects according to the roadmap and priorities of the Billing & Payments department. The team’s work is deeply connected to Scaleway’s data flows, requiring strong optimization, high reliability, and a constant focus on technical excellence.

Manager: Joachim Audouard is an experienced Engineering Manager, currently at Scaleway, with a background combining scientific expertise and technical leadership. Holding a PhD in Physics from Université Paris-Sud, he began his career in academic research, focusing on climate modeling and data analysis at CNRS and Stony Brook University. He later transitioned to the tech industry, working as a developer, lead developer, and then manager at companies such as WPO and Linxo, where he led data and technical teams. His skills span data management, SaaS environments, and Python development, all within international contexts in both English and French. Also involved in impact-driven initiatives through Team for the Planet, he blends strategic vision, scientific rigor, and the ability to lead complex projects.

Your daily routine

• Design technical solutions and challenge functional specifications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured Python code following best practices
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the evolution of our stacks (code, observability, deployment)
• Regularly engage in pair programming and code reviews
• Ensure system performance and optimization, particularly in high-volume PostgreSQL environments
• Integrate metrics and monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana
• Develop and maintain APIs in gRPC (protobuf)
• Contribute to reducing technical debt alongside delivering new features
