Newable seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy a platform serving building owners, operators and technicians. You will work closely with the founding team to deliver scalable software for energy efficiency in commercial real estate.

You will own features end‑to‑end, ensure code quality and collaborate with energy experts and product teams in a fast‑paced startup environment. Paris or Bordeaux, on‑site with health benefits.

Formación

• Graduates from a top-tier engineering school with strong scientific foundations beyond coding.
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping full‑stack web or mobile apps.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, SQL and React; comfortable with Cloud, IaC and CI/CD.
• Daily use of AI tools to accelerate work while maintaining high code quality.

About Newable

The new demand on commercial real estate is to consume less energy. Regulation is tightening. Occupiers are demanding it. Asset values depend on it. Yet most players in the value chain, from energy suppliers to facility managers, are not structurally incentivized to help buildings get there.

Newable was built to fix this. We are the energy provider that earns more when buildings consume less, by combining AI-driven control of building systems with a supply model that turns efficiency into a shared interest between us and our clients.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and build our platform.

Mission

As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Newable platform. You will design, develop, and deploy a product that must speak to many personas (building owners, operators, technicians etc.). Your work will directly contribute to our mission of making commercial real estate consuming less energy at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Founding Engineer and Lead Data Scientist to build the Newable platform, making architectural decisions that will shape the product for years to come.
• Own features end-to-end: from scoping and design to deployment and iteration, in close collaboration with energy experts and product teams.
• Translate business needs into pragmatic technical solutions, working across functions to ship things that are both well-crafted and actually useful.
• Set and uphold a high bar for code quality, security, and reliability, establishing the engineering culture as the team grows.

Who You Are

• You graduated from a top-tier engineering school (French grande école or international equivalent), strong scientific foundations being a prerequisite beyond coding skills.
• You have a solid background in software engineering with 3+ years of experience building and shipping full-stack web or mobile applications
• You're proficient in TypeScript, SQL, and React, comfortable with Cloud technologies, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD pipelines.
• You use AI tools daily (Claude, Cursor, etc.) to move faster, but you hold the bar high on code quality and don't let shortcuts become technical debt.
• You are pragmatic: You know how to make the most of what you have (time, budget etc.) and ship things that actually matter.
• You are entrepreneurial, autonomous, hands-on, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• You are passionate about sustainability and want your work to have a tangible impact on climate change.
• You are a strong communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Hiring Process

1. 60-minute in-depth interview with Thomas (Founding Engineer).
2. 45-minute technical interview, including a case study or practical exercise.
3. 30-minute peer interview with Louise (Lead Data Scientist)
4. 30-minute personality interview with Sébastien (co-founder & CEO).
5. Reference calls.
