Ahrefs is looking for a Social Media Manager to shape, coordinate, and elevate our presence across all social channels. This role goes beyond posting content; you’ll be responsible for developing strategy, aligning stakeholders, unifying our brand across platforms, and ensuring each social profile thrives with its own unique voice, audience, and purpose.

If you understand how different channels work, why certain content performs where it does, and how to turn fragmented brand presence into a cohesive ecosystem, this role is for you.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute Ahrefs’ social media strategy
  • Build an overarching social strategy that ties together all channels while respecting their individual tones and audiences.
  • Define goals for each channel (e.g., education, community building, thought leadership, product updates).
  • Create and maintain a cross‑channel content calendar.
Coordinate stakeholders and social “owners”
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, content, employer branding, leadership) to ensure messaging is aligned.
  • Bring together channel owners, like the people who run personal‑brand channels, YouTube, research content, etc. to create a unified but platform‑specific narrative.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between departments to ensure social content supports broader company priorities.
Manage and grow multiple social channels
  • Oversee Ahrefs’ accounts on X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube Community, Reddit, and others.
  • Guide tone, messaging, and publishing style for each account, ensuring consistency without homogenizing.
  • Ensure all channels move in harmony during product launches, campaigns, and announcements.
Monitor trends and identify opportunities
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, algorithm shifts, and emerging content formats.
  • Proactively suggest new ideas, tests, and experiments.
  • Capitalize on relevant trends while maintaining brand quality and integrity.
Drive engagement and community health
  • Understand deeply what positive, meaningful engagement looks like, not just vanity metrics.
  • Foster authentic conversation with a focus on value, clarity, and human connection.
  • Monitor responses, discussions, and sentiment; elevate when needed.
Analyze performance and optimize
  • Track KPIs across channels (reach, engagement, follower growth, traffic, retention, and authority signals).
  • Provide periodic reporting with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Iterate on strategy and execution based on data and real‑world feedback.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media for a brand or high‑profile content creator.
  • Strong strategic thinking; you know how to build a cohesive brand system across multiple channels.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone to each platform.
  • Deep understanding of social algorithms, audience behavior, and content performance.
  • Ability to coordinate across teams and align different stakeholders toward a unified plan.
  • A mix of creative intuition and analytical rigor.
  • Experience in SaaS, SEO, or technical content is a plus but not essential.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and executing with high standards.
