Hitachi Energy in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, France, is seeking a Site Quality Engineer to drive quality excellence during site execution, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction on HVDC projects. You will deploy site quality processes, train site teams, oversee inspections and non-conformities, manage corrective actions, and report KPI-driven quality performance to stakeholders.

This role is based at our Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Normandie) site and requires an onsite presence 5 days per week.
Join Hitachi Energy and play a key role in delivering strategic HVDC projects across France and internationally. As a Site Quality Engineer, you will drive quality excellence during site execution, ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and innovative global environment.
Lead the deployment and execution of site quality processes and tools, ensuring compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Train and support site teams and contractors on quality standards and quality management systems.
Oversee inspections, testing, and quality control activities during civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning phases.
Manage non-conformities, deviations, punch lists, and corrective action plans through to closure.
Provide clear visibility of project quality performance through KPIs and stakeholder reporting.
Support internal and supplier audits while promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Work closely with project teams, contractors, and customers to ensure safe, compliant, and successful project delivery.
Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction site quality, operational quality, or EPC project environments.
Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 standards.
Experience within the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Fluency in French and English.
Willingness to relocate for long‑term assignments in France and internationally.
