A leading simulation technology firm in Cognac is seeking a Simulator Technician to perform maintenance and troubleshoot a variety of simulators and aircraft systems. Candidates must possess a college diploma in electronics, mechatronics, aeronautics, or mechanical fields, and demonstrate proficiency with various test equipment. This permanent full-time position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, health insurance, and a flexible vacation policy, providing an enriching environment for technical growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in operating test equipment.
  • Knowledge in analogue and digital theory.

  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Fluency in English.

About This Role

Join CAE’s Simulator Technician team based in France (Cazaux.. Due to the unrivalled range of simulators at our training centre, your role will be incredibly varied, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge.

We’re continually looking to foster an environment of learning, development, and progression. At CAE you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of systems to help you develop your technical knowledge. Our team has opportunities across all levels within the function, so there is a progression path available beyond this position.

In this role, the Simulator Technician I will be expected to:
  • Perform complex assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory.
  • Projects may be of experimental or design nature.
  • Solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Perform pre-flight and post flight on designated simulators.
  • Perform basic visual alignments.
  • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required
Our ideal candidate has:
  • College diploma or degree in any of the following: electronics/mechatronics/aeronautics/mechanical
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).
  • Knowledge in analogue and digital theory.
  • Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.
  • Some Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
  • Fluency in English
