MARSS Group in Nice, France is seeking a senior Unreal Engine engineer to lead the NiDAR simulator project. You will work on UE5.x, building geo-referenced 3D environments and physics‑driven drones, vehicles, and vessels.
You will implement camera and sensor simulations, stream video to our C2 platform, and collaborate with backend teams while following the UE6 roadmap. Strong C++, Blueprints, and cross‑platform work are required.
We value intelligence and attitude over knowledge of specific technologies. But, as we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (at least 5+ years of software programming experience), we would expect your background to be closely aligned with the main qualifications below.
We are building a new NiDAR simulator that uses Unreal Engine 5.x for the 3D rendering engine and physics, and we are looking for a senior Unreal Engineer to lead and contribute to the development.
We prefer at least bachelors degree level in a science or engineering discipline. Masters or PhD advantageous.
Our core activity is safety and security applications. We're bringing the latest web technologies to real-world hardware i.e. we don't work in the cloud. We interface with very diverse equipment: radar, sonar, thermal imaging, drones, software-defined radios and more. Our UI runs on touchscreen displays, tablets, phones, smart-glasses...
If you are looking for an easy job, this isn't it. We operate in mission critical environments. Our systems can operate at sea and high security areas with limited connectivity to the data center. So, all your assumptions about cloud development techniques and operating environments will be constantly challenged. Timelines are strict, and creativity is often required to solve unexpected technical issues. It can be extremely diverse, interesting, and rewarding if you are up to the challenge!
