AXA Group Operations is seeking a Senior Tax Expert to shape the Group's tax strategy and lead high-impact projects. You will coordinate compliance, manage risks, and act as a trusted business partner to Finance and stakeholders across the Group.

You will advise on transactions, reorganizations, transfer pricing and tax audits, influencing senior management and guiding multi-country initiatives in a large multinational environment.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of progressive tax experience in a multinational context.
  • Masters or equivalent in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field.

Job purpose

The Senior Tax Expert is a senior member of the Tax function, providing technical expertise and operational support to the Tax Lead across key tax matters. The role is responsible for coordinating tax compliance, risk management, audits and strategic tax projects, while acting as a trusted business partner to Finance and other stakeholders. The Senior Tax Manager contributes to the implementation of the Group's tax strategy and governance framework, ensuring effective tax support across the Group.

Main missions

Your responsibilities include:

Strategic Tax Advisory
  • Support the Tax Lead in the execution of the Group's tax strategy.
  • Provide proactive tax advice on business transactions, reorganizations, financing arrangements, and transfer pricing matters.
  • Assess tax implications of strategic projects and recommend practical, value-added solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the identification of tax risks and opportunities associated with key business decisions.
Tax Risk Management & Governance
  • Identify, assess, and monitor tax risks across the organization and elevate key matters to the Tax Lead as appropriate.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Group's tax governance framework.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of tax controls to meet compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their potential impact on the Group.
Tax Compliance Oversight
  • Coordinate and review corporate income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing and other tax compliance processes, and support accounting teams in meeting tax reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate tax service providers on the affiliates’ transfer pricing documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.
Tax Audits & Controversy Management
  • Coordinate responses to tax audits and tax related information requests from tax authorities and external auditors, in collaboration with other divisions, external advisors, and the Tax Lead.
Leadership & Project Management
  • Support and coordinate cross-functional tax projects and strategic initiatives (AI transformation of the tax activities, VAT, transfer pricing, R&D tax credit, Withholding Tax, Pillar II).
  • Coordinate monthly tax governance meetings with local Finance teams to monitor compliance, tax risks, and action plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and support the development of tax knowledge across the Finance community.
  • Foster collaboration across local and central Finance teams and contribute to tax process improvements and governance initiatives.
Expected skills & experience

We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

Experience
  • 5-7+ years of progressive tax experience within a multinational corporation and/or a leading tax advisory firm.
  • Master's degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field.
Technical skills
  • Strong expertise in international corporate taxation, VAT, transfer pricing, tax audit, and tax risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex tax projects and stakeholder environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior management and work effectively across multiple functions and jurisdictions.
Soft skills / transversal skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex international environment.
  • Leadership presence and ability to drive change through influence.
