Thorizon, a pioneer in frontier nuclear technology, seeks a Senior System Engineer to own and advance critical reactor systems within Europe’s first molten salt reactor demonstrator program.

You will lead architecture, requirements, verification, and risk management across engineering disciplines, while collaborating with architects, project management and external partners. Travel between Amsterdam and Lyon offices is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline is required.
• Significant experience developing complex engineered systems or products.
• Experience in systems engineering, systems integration or technical leadership within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Nuclear experience is an advantage, not a requirement.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development of one or more major systems within the Thorizon Pioneer programme.
• Define, validate and manage system requirements throughout the design lifecycle.
• Drive system architecture, integration and interface management across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Balance technical trade-offs between performance, safety, reliability, operability, manufacturability and cost.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to develop integrated solutions.
• Initiate and guide analyses, simulations, testing and design activities needed to mature systems.
• Identify technical risks and drive engineering decisions based on evidence.
• Plan and coordinate verification and validation activities to demonstrate system functions.
• Deliver system documentation, prepare design reviews and contribute to licensing documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, technical leads, project management and external partners for successful integration.
• Contribute to Thorizon's systems engineering practices.
