Senior Systems Architect (HPC solutions, SoC architecture) – Grenoble area, France

Cutting edge European technology company providing hardware and software acceleration solutions for high performance computing challenges are looking for an experienced, client focused systems architect to join their highly technical team.

The role will involve shaping the next generation of high-performance computing platforms including defining how systems are put together, how data flows through these systems getting the best balance of performance, scalability and power efficiency.

You will be working closely with hardware, software and firmware teams guiding how these disciplines fit together to provide efficient and cohesive solutions. This will include managing packet processing, network constraints and deciding on architectural trade-offs to best resolve highly complex real-world applications of the systems. They are keen for someone to have strong experience in system on chip or platform system architecture experience with a deep understanding of processors and accelerators. You will be very comfortable with linux at “bare metal” level (Kernel, low-level drivers, embedded software) with strong knowledge of virtualisation (KVM, containers), networking and packet processing (DPDK, Open vSwitch, etc). You will understand processor and accelerator architectures, MMUs, PCIe/CXL, Ethernet subsystems, DDR memory and high-speed interconnects.The role involves maintaining a deep understanding of competitor solutions and the evolving application of the technologies involved to stay at the forefront of the technology space.You will need excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with people at all levels of the business as well as clients.

They are looking for someone who can be onsite collaborating with the team 3 days a week but are happy to look at relocation. They require a solid level of working technical English for the role.
