MARSS Group seeks an experienced Software Engineer to join the backend team in Nice. You will focus on developing backend applications in alignment with projects and the roadmap, contributing to system architecture modernization and mentoring colleagues.
You should be proficient in Go and familiar with Python, Docker, and Linux environments, with a strong grasp of concurrent programming and distributed designs. We value practical problem solving and collaboration across a small, diverse team.
We value intelligence and attitude over knowledge of specific technologies. But, as we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer, we would expect your background to be closely aligned with the main qualifications below.
Demonstrate expertise in the backend development, specifically with Golang
Strong experience in concurrent programming
Strong experience with system design and architecture.
Capable of proposing alternative solutions when necessary.
Ability to clearly articulate initiatives, listen to others, and influence in a collaborative manner.
Ability to commit to timelines, accurately estimate development time, and assess risks.
Confident with the below tech stack:
We prefer at least bachelors degree level in a science or engineering discipline. Masters or PhD advantageous.
Our core activity is safety and security applications. We're bringing the latest web technologies to real-world hardware i.e. we don't work in the cloud. We interface with very diverse equipment: radar, sonar, thermal imaging, drones, software-defined radios and more. Our UI runs on touchscreen displays, tablets, phones, smart-glasses...
If you are looking for an easy job, this isn't it. We operate in mission critical environments. Our systems can operate at sea and high security areas with limited connectivity to the data center. So, all your assumptions about cloud development techniques and operating environments will be constantly challenged. Timelines are strict, and creativity is often required to solve unexpected technical issues. It can be extremely diverse, interesting, and rewarding if you are up to the challenge!
