About this role

With a newfound financial outlook comes an exciting time full of exciting projects to work on ! As the team responsible for the development of our core product, our mobile apps, the mobile team will be at the forefront of creating new experiences for our users to enjoy. To that end, we are currently looking for our newest team member for the Android team !

As a Senior Android Developer, you will be part of the Android team along with 4 passionate senior developers, working on all aspects of the Android app, with no restrictions in terms of scope, and the ability to contribute to all technical decisions made within the team !

Your responsibilities

• As a member of the Android Team, you will be responsible for creating impactful new features for Yubo and our users and delivering our product roadmap !
• As a Senior, you will play a key part in maintaining a high level of quality on all deliverables and be accountable for the quality of the codebase along with all team members.
• You will also contribute to solving more complex problems. In terms of more complex UI for instance, how to create a scalable product, or what new technologies we should explore, among other subjects.
• With many types of devices used by our Android users, performance is a part we are very adamant about within the team, and you will also be taking part in keeping a good level of performance on all new features.
• You will also be an integral part of knowledge sharing within the team, be it by taking part in code reviews, pair programming, or just sharing knowledge and best practices.

Who you are

• You have at least 7 years of experience in Android development, ideally within a startup or scaleup environment.
• A good level of expertise in Kotlin, Coroutines and Compose is required
• You have worked on applications with high traffic, ideally in a B2C environment.
• You have experience crafting highly advanced UI elements
• You display a high level of ownership and autonomy in your daily tasks
• You have the ability to challenge others and accept having your opinions being challenged
• Autonomy doesn\'t mean “isolation” to you, and you know how to contribute within a team.

• 100% Kotlin
• Clean architecture, MVVM
• Libraries used: Coroutines, Retrofit, Hilt, Room, Paging 3, Navigation components
• Currently migrating from XML to Compose. All new components are made with Compose.
• Streaming: WebRTC, ExoPlayer
• Tooling: Git & Gitflow, Bitrise, Detekt, Grafana Kotlin, Coroutines, Compose...
