Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical is seeking a clinician-scientist to lead medical engagement in France, leveraging deep knowledge of rare diseases to guide education and external scientific dialogue.

You will build relationships with KOLs, support investigator-initiated research, and contribute to local market access and strategic medical initiatives, with strong communication and presentation skills in French and English.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in clinical specialty (MD, PhD or PharmD) with commensurate experience.
  • 3–5 years of industry experience in rare diseases preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to present clinical/scientific information clearly and concisely.
  • Expert understanding of the French healthcare system and patient pathways in France.
  • Fluent in French and English; valid driver’s license required.

Responsabilités

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with KOLs, HCPs and diagnostic networks.
  • Capture and communicate emerging clinical and scientific insights to inform internal decision-making.
  • Apply deep knowledge of rare diseases to guide medical engagement and education.
  • Develop and implement territory plans to support medical objectives with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations to identify trial sites and support investigator-initiated research.
  • Deliver high-quality scientific and clinical presentations in diverse healthcare settings.
  • Represent Ultragenyx at scientific meetings and advisory boards.

Work Model:

Field: Officially documented as working as a member of the Ultragenyx field team, generally interacting with third parties on behalf of Ultragenyx.

Responsibilities:
  • Scientific Engagement
    • Build andmaintainstrongscientific relationships with KOLs,HCPs, and diagnostic networks to enhance diseaseawarenessand patient identification.
    • Serve as a trustedmedicalpartner by providing balanced scientific exchangeandsupporting investigator-initiated research.
  • Strategic Insight Generation
    • Capture and communicate emerging clinical and scientific insights to inform internal decision-making and strategy.
  • Therapeutic Area Expertise
    • Apply deep knowledge of rare diseases, particularly metabolic and genetic disorders, to guide medical engagement and education.
    • Leverage advanced clinical training (MD, PhD, PharmD) andstrongunderstanding of thehealthcaresystem to provide local thought leadership.
    • Contribute to local Market Access and pricing/reimbursement discussions with scientificexpertise.
  • Scientific Strategy Execution
    • Develop and implement territory plans aligned with regional and national strategies to support Ultragenyx’s medicalobjectives.
    • Collaborate withfield-based and global medical affairs colleagues, as well as cross-functionally,to drivethesuccessful execution of scientific initiatives.
  • Clinical Development Support
    • Partner withClinical Operationstoidentifytrial sites,support patient recruitment, and foster productive relationshipswith investigators.
    • Act as a key contact for HCPs pursuing investigator-initiated research opportunities.
  • Scientific Communications
    • Deliver high-quality scientific and clinical presentations in diverse healthcare settings and contribute to medical education initiatives.
    • Provideaccurate,timelymedical information and updates.
  • Congress & Advisory Support
    • Represent Ultragenyx at scientific meetings, congresses, and symposia through presentations, discussions, and scientific support.
    • Provide expert engagement at advisory boards and contribute to shaping scientific dialogue with external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in clinical specialtyrequired(MD, PhD, PharmD) andcommensurateexperience
  • Required:3-5 years ofindustryexperience
  • Rare disease experienceis preferred, particularly inneurology andmetabolic and genetic disorders
  • Demonstrated experience effectively presenting clinical/scientific informationrequired
  • Expertunderstanding of the health care delivery system andits impacton patient pathway inFrance
  • Highly motivated;demonstratesresilience and flexibility; effective listening skills; excellent communication and presentation skills; works autonomously to organize and prioritize one’s own work schedule; proactively and consistently delivers on commitments
  • Languages: Fluent inFrench andEnglish
  • Valid driver’s license
