Johnson & Johnson in Gières, France, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to define and develop mechanical architectures for advanced robotic surgical prototypes. You will translate hypotheses into robust mechanical designs and collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability.

The role requires hands-on mechanical prototyping, tolerance analysis, and experience with medical devices. You will operate in an agile environment and contribute to development roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, biomechanics or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical design, prototyping or product development.
• Experience with medical devices class II/III, robotic surgery or orthopedic instrumentation preferred.
• Experience with electromecanical systems, actuators and precision mechanisms.

Responsabilités

• Define and develop mechanical architectures for advanced technology prototypes and concepts.
• Translate technology hypotheses and prototyping requirements into clear mechanical specs.
• Collaborate with systems, software, controls, electrical, clinical, quality and regulatory teams.
• Apply mechanical design standards, tolerance analysis practices, and design reviews.
