Akur8, a fast-growing InsurTech, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Life Actuary to lead European expansion of the SLOPE platform, focusing on Life & Annuity pricing and reserving.

You will design, build, and maintain Life models tailored to European markets, run product demos, train clients, and advise on regulatory alignment.

The role offers a hybrid Paris office, competitive compensation, and strong tech-first culture.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified actuary with 7+ years of actuarial experience across European markets including IFRS 17 and Solvency II
• Strong modelling skills using actuarial platforms such as Prophet, Axis, ALFA
• Experience in Valuation, Pricing or Asset/Liability Management work

Responsabilités

Akur8 is seeking a highly motivated, analytical and collaborative Senior Life Actuary who - via their technical and entrepreneurial skills, will spearhead the expansion of Akur8’s Life & Annuity presence in the UK and Europe.

Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining SLOPE actuarial models and reports tailored to the European market, you will run platform demos to prospects, as well as providing ongoing training & support to clients.

This role is a great fit for actuaries that are passionate about technology and want to be at the forefront of modernizing the actuarial profession in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform the design, construction, and maintenance of Life models and reports tailored to European markets across a range of Life & Annuity products

• Support sales team as Subject Matter Expert on actuarial topics related to Slope model design and implementation

• Run product demos and pilots for prospective clients to demonstrate the capabilities and value of the SLOPE platform

• Act as trusted advisor for onboarding, model best practices guidance, issue resolution, and feedback gathering for new and existing customers

• Monitor local regulatory updates & translate to requirements for SLOPE models and reports, and highlight market opportunities for Akur8

• Fulfill occasional speaking duties at European market focused webcasts and conferences to support marketing efforts

• Recommend new platform features for the broader Akur8 Life team to incorporate with the goal of providing a superior customer experience

• Assist in other related areas of the business as necessary

Interested applicants must meet each of the following criteria to be considered for this position:

• Fully qualified actuary or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant actuarial experience across European markets covering IFRS 17, Solvency II, and local equivalents across Life & and Annuity products.

• Strong modelling skillset including hands-on experience working with one or more actuarial modeling platforms (Prophet, Axis, ALFA, etc.)

• Experience in Valuation, Product Pricing, or Asset/Liability Management work

• Able to clearly communicate the expected benefits and values of the software, as well as to respond to objections from prospective customers in a sales setting

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly (e.g. new software, actuarial concepts, etc.)

• Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to work in a rapidly growing company

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on a collaborative team

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• Detail-oriented mindset

• Fluent English language skills (both written & spoken)

• French OR Spanish language skills (both written & spoken)

Bonus skills (non-essential, but nice to have):

• Interest in technology and tools (e.g. programming, AI, data visualization, etc.)

• Experience in automating processes utilizing programming scripts, AI, etc. is a plus

• Experience building dashboard and reports using business intelligence / data visualization tools such as Sigma, Tableau, or Power BI

• Familiarity with SQL and database concepts
