Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead HVDC control and protection solutions, acting as a trusted technical authority. You will guide design reviews, support the technology roadmap, and promote standardisation across teams, including external bodies.

The role emphasizes leading technical programs, governing projects, and mentoring engineers to elevate engineering practices within the HVDC domain.

Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, focused on control systems, preferably with power systems focus.
Experience leading technical teams to deliver outputs to deadlines.
Experience producing high-quality requirements, design, and test specifications.
Strong experience developing control and protection solutions using model-based design in MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience conducting EMT studies for power systems.
Deep knowledge of HVDC control and protection tech, real-time high-availability control systems.
Knowledge of control algorithms, software architecture, verification and validation.
Willingness to travel occasionally for business.

Responsibilities

Act as a technical authority in HVDC control and protection to support leadership and consulting engineers.
Approve designs, review execution plans, and help delivery of robust technical solutions.
Support roadmap development for HVDC control & protection algorithms and identify areas for advancement.
Drive standardisation activities; represent GE Vernova in IEC, CIGRE, and similar bodies.
Participate in patent evaluation and protect IP.
