About us
WeWard is the app that rewards you for walking and turns everyday steps into real-life rewards, connections, and positive impact.
Our mission is to help people move more, feel better, and make movement meaningful.
Today, we are trusted by 25M+ users worldwide, with a fast-growing, international team and offices in Paris and New York.
Our ambition is to build the world’s leading movement-and-rewards platform, scaling globally while using technology, data, and smart incentives to drive lasting behavior change and wellbeing at scale.
About the role
Reporting directly to Ivan, you’ll work as a Senior Mobile Engineer on the pillar that turns WeWard's promise — walk, and get rewarded — into a delightful, trustworthy experience.
WeWard rewards walking — the Monetization & Reward Pillar is where those rewards come to life. We turn user engagement into real value through partners, affiliation and advertising, and we hand that value back to users as Wards. Your job is to make earning and spending Wards feel effortless, generous, and worth opening the app for.
You’ll face the challenge of operating a large‑scale international consumer app handling billions of interactions and strong peaks of activity every day, where the experience has to feel fast, fair, and trustworthy because real money is flowing back to real users.
The Monetization & Reward Pillar works on 3 core ambitions:
- A rewarding experience — make earning and spending Wards feel effortless, generous, and worth coming back for.
- Conversion that funds the mission — craft reward and partner journeys that users love and that sustain the whole reward economy.
- Integrity & trust — surface rewards, offers, and balances in a way users can always trust, because every Ward maps to real value.
Your impact / responsibilities
As a Senior Mobile Engineer inside the Monetization & Reward Pillar, you will:
Ship and own
- Ship mobile features end‑to‑end on iOS and Android.
- Lead the reward experiences — the reward store/catalog, partner & affiliation journeys, earning and spending Wards.
- Build conversion‑focused flows and experiments that grow monetization while keeping the experience generous and fair.
Drive technical excellence
- Optimize performance, load times, and resilience on screens that drive real revenue.
- Contribute to pillar‑level architecture with the CTO and Engineering Manager.
- Spot fragile areas, debt, and integration risks early.
- Reduce long‑term debt without derailing the roadmap.
Collaborate and mentor
- Frame trade‑offs with Product, Design, and the monetization team.
- Guide pillar engineers on complex technical decisions.
The app is built with React Native and TypeScript, with native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) modules where it matters.

- You care about conversion, performance, and detail — the difference between a good and a great reward experience.
- You can leverage AI and are eager to grow your skills with it.
- You love combining continuous improvement and agility, always bringing new ideas to the table. At WeWard, our spirit is Test & Learn — we trust you to experiment (we deploy to production more than ten times a week!).

- You’re motivated by working close to the business — rewards, conversion, and the trust users place in us.
