Job summary

Ulteig seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist to drive environmental compliance across Federal, State, and Local regulations for diverse clients in Lifeline Sectors. Hybrid work options include Sacramento, CA office or remote in the Southern California region.

You will manage teams, oversee field investigations, prepare NEPA/CEQA reports, and coordinate permits while building strong client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental field.
• 15+ years of related experience.
• Thorough understanding of and experience with NEPA/CEQA and ESA/CWA/CAA.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willing to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, organize, and direct multi-disciplinary teams for reports and permit applications.
• Provide oversight and interpretation of data for investigations, mitigation, or monitoring.
• Lead project field efforts (wildlife, botanical, water, etc.).
• Communicate scientific information to the project team.
• Prepare and review environmental reports and materials.
• Assist with permit coordination and compliance for clients.
• Develop relationships with current clients through quality support.
• Engage new clients via networking and service.
• Prepare proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff.
