Gaming Innovation Group in Toulouse is seeking a seasoned Database Architect to design and implement advanced database solutions aligned with strategic goals. You will define the database strategy, ensure performance, scalability, and security, and lead cross-functional initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years in DBA work and deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, plus cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. A hybrid working model is offered with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in DBA work, database architecture and design.
• Proven track record of leading complex database projects.
• Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, normalization, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with data platforms for Microsoft SQL Server and Open Source Postgres/MySQL.

Responsabilités

• Develop and articulate a long-term database strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies, platforms, and architectures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data requirements into database solutions.
• Design and implement complex database architectures (OLTP and other models).
• Develop data models, schemas, and normalization rules for data integrity.
• Optimize performance via indexing, query tuning, and monitoring.
• Create automation routines for Database Engineers to follow.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards.
• Develop data classification and retention strategies for regulatory compliance.
• Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Lead database-related projects with the Engineering Team Manager.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration of database solutions.
