Job summary

Morpho, a leading DeFi lending protocol, is scaling its team to own backend systems powering consumer products with reliable APIs and data pipelines. We seek a senior backend engineer to own APIs, data models, and collaboration with frontend teams.

You will design REST/GraphQL interfaces, optimize PostgreSQL pipelines, and drive reliability, observability, and performance at scale. Remote-first with Europe overlap; Paris-area collaboration encouraged.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of backend development in TypeScript/Node environments.
• REST APIs experience and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience on a backend-for-frontend stack or collaborating with frontend teams.
• Track record operating production systems at scale: reliability, observability, performance.
• Strong interest in Web3 ecosystem and DeFi domain.
• Comfort in fast-changing environments with shifting priorities.
• Strong ownership and autonomy for outcomes end-to-end.
• Clear, crisp async communication and distributed team alignment.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend features using TypeScript and Node for Morpho Consumer.
• Design and evolve REST APIs (and GraphQL) and data models for secure financial data.
• Operate PostgreSQL-backed data pipelines for performance and reliability as volumes grow.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product to ship end-to-end features.
• Identify and implement architecture improvements: data processing, caching, API design.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure high quality UX.
• Write clear documentation and async updates for stakeholders across time zones.
