Job summary

Licorne Society in Paris or Bordeaux is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our Tech team. You will work closely with the Head of Software to scale systems, own architectural decisions, and drive high‑impact feature development.

You'll join five developers, deploy daily, and help prepare for tenfold growth, tackling performance, load balancing, and real-time communications with our vehicle fleet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience in R&D or product-driven tech teams.
• Strong Python background; Node.js or Go familiarity is a plus.
• Pragmatic problem-solving with scalable solutions and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Feature development: Build new product features and contribute to the technical roadmap, designing solutions that balance user needs with strong technical foundations.
• Infrastructure maintenance & improvement: Maintain existing systems, troubleshoot incidents, and continuously improve backend services.
• Performance optimisation: Reduce recurring incidents, improve capacity planning, and optimise backend architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Complex problem-solving: Take ownership of deep technical challenges to ensure the robustness and quality of our platform.
