SOPHiA GENETICS is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to strengthen the Engineering Hub. You will ship full-stack product features, mentor junior engineers, and lead production LLM applications, including evidence-grounded gene and variant descriptions with citations for clinical interpreters.

The role emphasizes craftsmanship in modern web services, RAG pipelines, and structured outputs, with a hybrid setup (onsite 3 days) across Bidart, Rolle, or Boston.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years building and releasing reliable web-based services to production.
• Back-end: strong Java and SQL, microservice architecture. Front-end: React and modern JavaScript.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with production LLM applications — specifically RAG pipelines and/or LLM evaluation — OR evidence of quickly learning new areas to production.
• Experience using AI tooling in the SDLC (AI-assisted coding, review, documentation).
• Strong communication and mentoring.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, test, deploy and maintain full-stack web features and microservices, owning components end to end.
• Lead code and design reviews; mentor junior engineers and raise engineering quality.
• Prototype fast and iterate — turn ideas into reliable software.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Architecture and PMO to align delivery with product vision and regulatory needs.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines over curated clinical data sources and internal databases.
• Design system and task-specific prompts, structured output, and provenance/citation handling.
• Build LLM evaluation into the product: graders and evaluation pipelines that score accuracy and grounding.
• Use managed LLM endpoints on Azure AI Foundry effectively and share practices with the team.
