Job summary

EssilorLuxottica seeks a Senior AI Research Leader to shape the AI strategy for its NMR department, guiding projects at the intersection of multimodal data, neuroscience, and medical devices. You will mentor researchers, build academic and industry partnerships, and drive strategic AI initiatives across ophthalmology and digital health.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI, data science, engineering, neuroscience, physics, or related fields.
• 5+ years post-doctoral or R&D in AI in life-science or biomedical contexts.
• Expertise in foundation models, generative AI, multimodal learning, and advanced ML.
• Experience designing large-scale multimodal data platforms with imaging, biosignals, behavioral, physiological, and real-world data.
• Experience supervising junior researchers or PhD students.
• Independent work with high scientific rigor and quality awareness.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience leading strategic AI projects in healthcare AI, from development to deployment and monitoring.
• Extensive experience with AI approaches applied to biosignal processing.
• Experience in ophthalmology, neurology, cardiovascular diseases or biomarker validation.
• Connectivity with international scientific community and dissemination of research findings.
• Publication record and/or participation in scientific communities.
• Experience defining scientific strategy and roadmaps with academia or hospitals.
• Experience in clinical or human-subject research protocols.
• Industrial R&D or neurotech/medtech company experience.
• Ability to identify research questions with commercialization prospects.
• Medical image analysis and feature extraction.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the AI strategy across the NMR department in collaboration with R&D.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI researchers and engineers; foster collaborations with universities, hospitals and industry.
• Identify emerging AI and health data trends and assess relevance for NMR.
• Represent NMR and EssilorLuxottica within international AI, digital health and scientific communities.
