Escape seeks a Senior Research Engineer to lead AI-powered vulnerability detection research and translate breakthroughs into production-grade security solutions. You will work with security researchers to build agentic scanning systems, a robust detection engine, and AI-enhanced testing workflows.

The role emphasizes distributed infrastructure, memory model design, and scalable data architectures while leveraging Python, Go, Kubernetes, Playwright, and modern data stacks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend engineering, security research, or applied R&D in a product environment.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals across systems, networking, and web architectures.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Go).

Responsibilities

• Build autonomous agentic scanning systems that explore applications and execute complex testing strategies.
• Design production-grade vulnerability detection logic (injection, auth issues, business logic flaws).
• Integrate AI-driven testing using LLMs to improve coverage and reduce false positives.
• Work on distributed infrastructure and orchestration for thousands of concurrent scans (Kubernetes, queues).
• Ensure scans are fast, deterministic, and cost-efficient under high complexity and concurrency.
• Contribute to core platform architecture decisions around memory, execution environments, and data models.
