SOLEIL, on the Paris-Saclay plateau near Paris, seeks a Scientific Director to lead its scientific strategy and Executive Management Team, guiding 150 beamline staff and collaborators. The ideal candidate is internationally recognized in Physical Sciences, with experience running a large-scale research infrastructure and knowledge of synchrotron radiation and instrumentation.

French language familiarity is appreciated, and the appointee may maintain an active research programme alongside

Qualifications

• Internationally recognized expert in Physical Sciences.
• Experience leading a large-scale research infrastructure.
• Knowledge of synchrotron radiation and related instrumentation.

Responsabilités

• Organise and lead SOLEIL’s scientific activities and define strategic direction.
• Oversee the Experiments Division and Beamlines/Laboratories Programme.
• Support and work with the Executive Management Team to advance SOLEIL II upgrades.
