Job summary

Piñon Unified School District is seeking a capable Security Officer to patrol school grounds by foot, bike, or vehicle, enforce access control, and secure doors and gates to prevent unauthorized entry.

You will respond to emergencies, coordinate with the Safety Team, and prepare concise incident reports. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Arizona driver license, and First Aid/CPR certification, with training provided within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of security enforcement experience preferred.
• Arizona Driver License required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Must pass First Responder and self-defense training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned area by foot patrol, bicycle, or motor vehicle to deter threats.
• Checks doors, windows, and gates to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Responds to emergencies and contacts responders as needed.
• Maintains and uses a 2-way radio to coordinate with staff.
• Completes clear incident reports detailing date, time, and actions.
• Assists with evacuations and lockdown procedures when required.
• Works under security director guidance and handles special procedures.
• Participates in training and professional development.
