AIRBUS SAS is seeking a Cabin System Retrofit Solution Engineer in Toulouse, France. You will join the Cabin Retrofit Solution Department to develop engineering cabin modifications after aircraft delivery for Airbus commercial aircraft.

The role covers technical scope definition, planning validation, and management of French activities for cabin conversions, with international collaboration and potential business travel. Strong design, PM, and English skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master/Engineering degree in aeronautical domain or equivalent.
• Technician degree with 3–5 years experience in mechanical/electrical systems installation or structure.
• Experience in Aircraft Design (Design Office) and retrofit solutions for legacy programs (A320/A330).
• Experience in project management and strong communication skills.
• Professional level English (technical/conversational).

Responsabilités

• Analyse Technical Offers and investigate engineering solutions for cabin retrofit scope.
• Lead French portion of cabin conversions and manage related deliverables.
• Validate detailed planning, SB drawings, LOCs and related documents.
• Provide on-site technical assistance during working parties and respond to SB queries.
• Support project meetings and ensure alignment with Make/Buy policy and certification plans.

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Cabin System Retrofit Solution Engineer (f/m) to join our Cabin Retrofit Solution Department based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team developing engineering cabin modification/upgrades on French perimeter for Airbus commercial aircraft, after aircraft delivery.

Your challenges

During Acquisition phase :

In the context of optional modification requested by Customers after aircraft delivery, on demand, you may support the pull of experienced people who will manage to analyse the Technical Offers, by investigating & searching engineering solutions on your area of expertise.

After customer acceptance :

Once the offer is accepted, you are contributing to cabin conversions projects for which you are accountable for engineering activities during the production phase. Following the serial line work sharing between France & Germany, you are responsible to manage French activities for cabin conversions as follow:

• Contributing to the technical scope & validating the detailed planning for our French perimeter
• Being the engineering responsible for your French portion of cabin contributions in front of all stakeholders (Mod Proposal dossier, engineering drawing, List Of Component (LOC) & SB drawing set)
• Ensuring project management of your contribution deliverables (including LLI & LOCs)
• Elaborating SB preparation activities for your perimeter (internal or external preparation/authoring) depending on the Make or Buy Policy
• Filling in the MP intent instruction (MP dossier for CTK Mod) for the engineering portion you are responsible for
• Elaborating the list of impacts and the Interface table from the Technical Offer (TO) + pre/post cabin layout for the work package you are responsible for
• Analysing & validating PRE/POST design solutions for the “Repère Fonctionnel” (RF/CI) your are responsible for
• Creating & validating engineering & design activities following the release process (based on your technical delegations)
• Maintaining the planning up to date for all activities under your responsibility
• Identifying “Long Lead Item” (LLI) parts for early ordering and the final List Of Components (LOC), to be in line with the kit delivery Target Date (TD) following the “E1 to E4” process
• Being Responsible for Engineering/LOC production planning (BU letter) for your portion
• Contributing on the Certification plan by providing the certified Mod or drawing numbers for impacted regulations and proposing associated Means & Compliance to support the approval of the modifications
• Providing technical support during SB embodiment on aircraft by providing answer to SB queries & Defect report (DR)
• Ensuring on-site technical assistance during the working party. This role will involve some business travels to foreign countries for periods of several weeks
• Contribution & participating to the recap project meeting

When you have the required experience, other functions/responsibilities can be accumulated :

• Technical delegations for Specific Design Work (SDW)
• RTE 1, 2 delegations
• Defect Report (DR) signature
• SB technical approval delegations
• Technical delegations for Full TRS (MP intent box) and for Mod Closure (stage 3a)
• Support the newcomers upskilling

Your boarding pass

• Beginner with Master/Engineering degree on aeronautical domain as mechanical/electrical systems installation or structure
• Technician degree with 3 to 5 years experience on mechanical/electrical systems installation or structure
• Experience in Aircraft Design (in Design Office but especially well appreciated on retrofit solutions) on legacy aircraft programs (DD/A320/A330 family)
• Experience in project management
• Good communication skills
• Professional (Technical purpose)/conversational level of English
