JOB SUMMARY

The Store Manager is directly responsible for the operations of a Goodwill retail store in accordance with Goodwill policies and procedures in support of the Goodwill Mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted sales goals by maintaining appropriate expense to revenue ratios, adjusting staff, and controlling company assets
  • Create and implement timely store sales events to achieve additional revenue
  • Foster a positive store atmosphere in support of employees, customers and participants
  • Achieve or exceed production goals monthly/annually by processing donations within 24 hours of receipt
  • Effectively recruit, hire, develop, supervise, schedule and evaluate store personnel; supervise volunteers
  • Support Mission-related programs in the retail store
  • Responsible for controlling company assets and funds
  • Create a positive public image of Goodwill through a clean store environment, attractive displays, and presentable and personable sales and management staff
  • Maintain a safe working/shopping environment. Investigate and document all accidents/injuries/incidents
  • Ensure customers are treated in a fair, courteous and efficient manner
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of store salvaging
  • Complete required paperwork accurately, neatly and submit within established timeframe
  • Collaborate with Loss Prevention to ensure an effective and proactive LP program is in place
  • Maintain merchandising guidelines through colorization and classification of store inventory
  • Promote diversity in the work place through hiring practices and assistance from the Human Resources Department
  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred
  • One (1) year’s retail sales experience is required, two (2) or more years is preferred
  • One (1) year’s supervisory experience in a retail setting is required, two (2) or more years is preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Must have good marketing and merchandising ability.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as required in order to meet operational needs of the store
  • Must have knowledge of clothing and fashion trends.

Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
