Valeo is recruiting a Power Supply R&D Manager in Cergy, France to lead the technical and budget aspects of R&D for power conversion and distribution. You will define the product roadmap, drive PoC activities, and ensure operational excellence in development across worldwide teams.

You will oversee market analysis, lifecycle management, and collaboration with engineering to optimize costs and IP management. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering (Bac+5).
• 6+ years of R&D experience on data centers or BESS projects.
• Strong skills in electrical architectures (AC-DC, DC-DC), power distribution, and thermal integration.
• Experience managing R&D budgets and leading teams.
• Proficient in industrial product development processes and IP management.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent in English.

As part of Valeo’s strategic expansion into the data center and battery energy storage system (BESS) markets, we are recruiting our future Power Supply R&D Manager M/F. As the leader of the technical and budgetary aspects of R&D for our power conversion and distribution solutions, you will define the product roadmap, drive innovation (PoC), and ensure operational excellence in development efforts worldwide.

Your responsibilities

• Analyze market needs, technology trends, and the competition to define Valeo’s product portfolio
• Develop a technology roadmap aligned with regional business opportunities
• Oversee the full product lifecycle: specifications, design, validation, homologation, and certification
• Support regional teams on requests for quotes (RFQs) to ensure technical feasibility, competitiveness, and optimal design
• Work closely with engineering disciplines and platforms to resolve technical issues
• Identify disruptive concepts and conduct initial Proof of Concept (PoC) tests with target customers (AI providers, hyperscalers, BESS integrators)
• Optimize development costs and timelines: standardize specifications, reuse technical building blocks, implement “make or buy” strategies (in collaboration with Procurement), and utilize advanced simulation tools
• Ensure the protection of intellectual property
• Build and manage the overall R&D budget dedicated to power supply solutions
• Lead and develop R&D teams, ensuring the right mix of skills, tools, and continuous improvement processes

About you

• You hold a master’s degree (Bac+5) in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Complex Systems, and have at least 6 years of R&D experience on projects related to data centers or BESS.
• You have developed strong skills in electrical architectures (AC-DC, DC-DC), power distribution, and thermal integration.
• You have proven experience in managing R&D projects, including budget management and team leadership.
• You are proficient in industrial product development processes (specification, validation, certification) and intellectual property management.
• Recognized for your leadership and interpersonal skills, you thrive in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
• You are fluent in English.
