Mines Paris-PSL is a public institution that trains generalist engineers through an innovative and multidisciplinary educational approach (engineering sciences and social sciences and humanities). Its affiliation with PSL University, which ranks among the top 50 in international rankings, represents a real opportunity to enrich academic paths.
Your environment :
The O.I.E. Center is a research team whose activities lie at the crossroads of energy, environment, and Earth observation. The work of the O.I.E. Center contributes to four main areas of activity :
The use of Earth observation data (i.e., in-situ measurements, satellites, and large-scale models) for the development of value-added services in the field of renewable energy.
The development of energy-specific meteorology for the assessment and prediction of renewable resources, particularly solar energy.
Analysis and decision support regarding the reduction of environmental, social, and economic impacts of transport, energy production, and energy use.
The dissemination of scientific data through web-based services within an international collaborative environment (OGC, GEO, IRENA, IEA).
The O.I.E. Center’s research is focused on the assessment, modeling, and utilization of renewable energy resources — past, present, and future.
Conduct (i.e., contribute to, lead, supervise, secure funding for, communicate, publish, and popularize) cutting-edge research at the international level — both academic and / or in partnership — in the field of data sciences derived from Earth Observation (satellite observations, in-situ measurements, numerical meteorological and atmospheric models) for the assessment and exploitation of renewable energy resources.
Contribute to teaching activities (lectures, projects, tutorials, lab work) at various levels of higher education, particularly within the civil engineering program at MINES Paris – PSL, as well as other training programs of Mines Paris – PSL.
Supervise and advise students engaged in research projects in the field of renewable energy resource assessment and utilization.
Supervise and direct PhD theses.
Collaborate with other researchers and departments within MINES Paris – PSL, as well as with external academic and socio-economic partners, at the regional, national, and international levels.
Contribute to institutional service by participating in academic committees, recruitment activities, and other efforts supporting the missions of the O.I.E. Center within the DEP Department of MINES Paris – PSL.
Travel to participate in international conferences and partnership research project meetings.
