Matter Labs is seeking a security-focused engineer to protect ZKsync core components—smart contracts, ZK circuits, and blockchain nodes. You will perform threat modeling, code reviews, and incident response, with a hands-on approach to finding and fixing vulnerabilities.

The role emphasizes independent exploration, secure architecture ownership, and cross-team collaboration, including opportunities to work with AI-driven defense tools in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• A track record in security engineering or security research, with threat modeling and secure code reviews.
• Experience performing vulnerability research on production systems.
• Ability to walk through findings mechanism by mechanism.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Familiarity with distributed systems protocol-level debugging.

Responsabilités

• Break things on purpose by threat-modeling and reviewing contracts and state transitions.
• Own protocol components from design review to production.
• Track adversaries by following hacks and new attack vectors.
• Scale security practices across development teams.
• Apply AI responsibly to scale security work and defenses.
• Respond to security investigations and incidents under time pressure.
