Matchtech is seeking a Control Systems and SCADA Engineer for a nuclear-sector project. The role is predominantly home-based with occasional travel to France and an immediate start. A six-month contract with potential extension and a 40-hour week is offered.

The candidate will develop and configure control systems, program PLCs, and support EC&I activities across a complex project, ensuring reliable automation and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Active UK SC clearance is essential.
• Knowledge of AWE projects or previous work at AWE.
• Experience in control systems, SCADA and EC&I engineering.
• Strong PLC programming skills including ladder logic.
• Understanding of industrial automation and electrical control systems.
• Nuclear/defence or highly regulated engineering environment experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues and work independently.
• Willingness to travel to France occasionally (about monthly).

Responsabilités

• Developing, configuring and programming control systems and SCADA applications
• Writing and modifying PLC programmes using ladder logic software
• Supporting EC&I activities across a technically complex nuclear project
• Testing, troubleshooting and resolving control system and PLC issues
• Collaborating with engineering and project teams to deliver reliable automation solutions
• Providing technical input during project delivery and system integration activities
• Attending occasional project meetings or site activities in France, where required
