Job summary

Keystone Building Consultants is hiring for a remote, contract-based Building Consultant role focused on evaluating property damage, producing professional estimates, and delivering expert insights for insurers and attorneys. The candidate will work with a hands-on construction background, prepare comprehensive reports, and may travel for CAT events.

Qualifications

• Experience in general contracting, construction, home remodeling, mitigation, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with insurance-related repairs or claims estimating.
• Proficiency with construction estimating methods (time & materials and software).
• Strong written communication and ability to produce detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to assignments promptly, typically scheduling inspections within 24 hours.
• Conduct onsite property inspections within 7 days of assignment.
• Prepare detailed photo reports, cost estimates, and written reports within 7 days post-inspection.
• Collaborate with Keystone’s Managing Building Consultant during review and approval processes.
• Occasionally travel to perform CAT (Catastrophe) event evaluations.
• Participate in joint inspections and communicate effectively with policyholders, engineers, and claim adjusters.
• Provide credible testimony as an expert witness when required.
