Job summary

Outlier is seeking skilled backend engineers to help train autonomous AI agents like OpenClaw. This freelance, remote role pays up to $50 USD/hr and offers flexible scheduling.

Most contributors work 5-10 hours per week, with potential for more depending on project needs. You will build production-grade services for data parsing, logic processing, and reporting, and you will debug traces, write evaluation rubrics, and stress test agents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering, AI automation, or complex systems integration.
• Proven ability to build and maintain production-grade software with modular separation (distinct services for data parsing, logic processing, and reporting).
• Practical experience building for live, non-mocked environments and handling multi-turn system interactions.
• Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to provide clear, high-density technical feedback on complex system behaviors.
• Nice to have experience building multi-stage coordination tasks and integrating agents with live tools like Supabase, Gmail and various APIs.
