Job summary

Alstom in France is offering a 6-month internship for a System Engineer focused on Data Processing for Rail Defect Detection. You will transform raw test data from Grand Paris Express campaigns into actionable insights to support engineering decisions.

Expect to work with a multidisciplinary team on data cleaning, tool development, and reporting, gaining hands-on experience with real-world railway data and contributing to safety and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bac+5 in data science, engineering, or related field.
• Strong interest in data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
• Familiar with Python, C or C++.
• Knowledge of MATLAB or equivalent environments.
• Ability to produce clear, structured technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Process, clean, and structure test data for reliability and usability.
• Develop and automate data analysis tools to improve efficiency.
• Analyze results to identify trends, anomalies, and KPIs.
• Create reports and visualizations for clear, actionable findings.
