An experienced engineer is required to join the transverse R&T team to develop Additive Manufacturing across all Safran Landing Systems sites and business units. He/She will report to the Senior Chief engineer for R&T products in the transverse engineering organisation. The (Deputy) Chief Engineer is responsible for the updates, structuration and progress reporting of the complete Additive Manufacturing roadmap, managing the technology watch to identify promising new technologies to be inserted in the plan updates, structuring and managing PoCs and low TRL level projects, planning, cost, quality and on time delivery of additive manufacturing products for Safran Landing Systems. In your role, you are also responsible for identifying the best product and technical targets to mature the technology(ies) as well as preparing the transfer of such identified targets to project managers or WP leaders across the business; to engage in higher maturity demonstration, and write and support requests for funding. You will coordinate with different functions within Safran Landing Systems on behalf of the Senior Chief Engineer (CE) in order to achieve Roadmap progress at the best possible compromise on time (fast delivery) and costs. In order to achieve the above you will be coordinating all activities with internal and external shareholders of the project. You will be responsible for supporting the CE to define objectives and associated milestones, work breakdown structures, schedules and costs on focused projects or work packages involving several functions, conduct activities using Safran Landing Systems Project Management processes and procedures. You will manage on behalf of the CE the achievement of the objectives of the defined projects, and coordinate and animate the progress of the additive manufacturing projects which maturity progress are launched under project leaders within the business.

You should have knowledge in landing gear design processes, materials and coatings. You should have experience in additive manufacturing process (powder bed, and/or direct energy deposition), and/or metallurgy/welding. Ideally, you should be familiar with technology readiness levels and experience on a research environment. You must be able to confidently write reports and present to a senior level.
Travels to the other sites (Toronto and Gloucester) are to be expected
