Job summary

AVP in Aubervilliers, France, seeks a hardware engineer to design and integrate robust rack and electronics systems for our quantum computing setups, including custom PCBs, cryostat sub-parts, and the tooling needed to support implementation.

You will work with physicists, RF and mechanical engineers to define hardware architectures, handle wiring, and drive the scale-up of installations while testing and validating equipment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in electronics design and system integration with electromechanical background.
• Hands-on PCB design experience (KiCad, Altium or similar).
• Hands-on experience with cabling and rack integration.
• Real workshop skills: soldering, debugging, assembling and repairing electronic or electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and Python for automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate robust rack and electronics systems for quantum setups, including custom PCBs and cryostat sub-parts.
• Integrate equipment into racks and cryostats, manage wiring across instruments, and drive scale-up of installations.
• Diagnose and repair electronic boards and equipment, deciding whether to fix in-house or return to supplier.
• Validate and verify commercial equipment, running tests to ensure signals and performance meet needs.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with equipment and component suppliers, tracking state-of-the-art instrumentation.
• Collaborate with physicists, RF and mechanical engineers to define hardware architectures and document work.
