Job summary

Qualifications

Five years of progressively responsible experience in public information, communications, or media relations.
Experience in government or highly regulated environments preferred.
Equivalent education/experience considered.
Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Lead countywide public information, communications, and media relations initiatives.
Coordinate multimedia communications and public meeting broadcasts.
Oversee website content strategy and digital engagement.
Respond to media inquiries and coordinate press statements.
Support executive leadership with strategic communications and outreach.
Ensure accuracy, accessibility, and timeliness of public communications.
Monitor media coverage and emerging communication trends.
Coordinate with IT on website infrastructure and digital systems.
Collaborate with safety and county departments on public information projects.
