Proxy Product Owner (PO) – Process Automation


As part of the Group Process Automation initiative, we are seeking a Proxy Product Owner (PO) – Process Automationto strengthen our team.
This role will be responsible for partnering with business teams across the organization to identify, assess, model, and optimize business processes that are candidates for automation using AI agents and the Dataiku platform.

The Proxy PO will help translate business needs into actionable automation requirements, build and prioritize the automation backlog, and support the development team in delivering high-quality automated workflows. The role also includes contributing to business case creation, value assessment, and change management to ensure successful adoption of automated solutions.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Process Identification & Assessment
  • Engage with business teams to understand their operational challenges, workflows, and pain points.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to capture existing (“as-is”) processes.
  • Identify and qualify processes suitable for automation (AI agents, RPA-like patterns, Dataiku flows, or hybrid automations).
  • Evaluate automation feasibility based on process complexity, data readiness, cost, value potential, and risks.
2. BPMN 2.0 Process Modeling
  • Model current and target processes using BPMN 2.0 standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities before automation.
  • Produce clear and detailed process documentation to support design and development.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate and refine process maps.
  • Transform business needs and process analyses into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize the automation backlog in alignment with business value, effort estimates, and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as the proxy between the business stakeholders and the Dataiku development team.
4. Business Case & Value Realization
  • Support business teams in defining financial and non-financial benefits of automation initiatives.
  • Estimate potential savings (time, cost, error reduction) and value delivered.
  • Track KPIs and success metrics for automation projects after implementation.
  • Contribute to the governance of benefits realization.
5. Collaboration with Dataiku Automation Development Team
  • Work closely with Dataiku developers to ensure that requirements are correctly understood and implemented.
  • Participate in solution design discussions regarding AI agents, data flows, connectors, and orchestration logic.
  • Validate deliverables to ensure alignment with process logic and business expectations.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and improvements as part of iterative delivery cycles.
6. Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Help business teams prepare for the adoption of automated processes.
  • Communicate progress, timelines, and expectations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide training or knowledge transfer when needed.
  • Promote automation culture and best practices across the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical & Functional Skills
  • Strong knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and business process modeling.
  • Experience in process automation (RPA, AI agents, workflow automation, or data-driven automation).
  • Familiarity with Dataiku (a strong plus).
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Experience with business case creation and ROI/value assessment.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, data pipelines, or workflow orchestration (preferred).
Analysis & Problem-Solving Skills
  • Exceptional ability to analyze complex business processes.
  • Strong problem-solving approach, with a mindset for optimization and simplification.
  • Capacity to challenge existing practices and propose improvements.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation skills for workshops, interviews, and process discovery sessions.
  • Ability to drive discussions, manage expectations, and influence decisions.
Professional Experience
  • 8–10 years of experience in process management, business analysis, automation, or related fields.
  • Prior experience with RPA/IPA initiatives or automation COEs is a plus.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international environments is preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
