Description du poste

Contrat CDI Référence Localisation Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Statut Cadre Fonction Ingénieur (e) Projet Secteur ENR - SOLAIRE

PRESENTATION OF THE CLIENT :

Driven by the climate crisis and cost reductions, there is an urgent need for new capability to design and engineer our PV future. Our CLIENT has been set up as a pureplay solar design and engineering company – scalable, adaptable and with solar-storage ‘baked in’. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable zero carbon energy system with solar PV at its core.

Our CLIENT is a subsidiary of an independent consultancy company specialised in renewable energy, energy storage and flexibility and has its headquarters in UK.

Our CLIENT headquarters are based in Lyon (France) and we have a subsidiary in South Europe. Our CLIENT also works with Partners in several other European countries (UK, Ireland, Spain, etc.).

Our CLIENT designs and engineers great solar PV projects, including energy storage where applicable. Our focus is mainly on large scale ground-mounted solar PV where we provide design and construction supervision services for their clients – including some of the world’s largest renewable energy investors, developers and EPCs, covering the entire project life-cycle (feasibility studies, design, construction, commissioning, operation and repowering of PV plants).

Our CLIENT is a young company, facing a rapid growth and with many opportunities to grow together with the company.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

Our CLIENT is providing design and owner’s engineering services for several projects, including large scale ground-mounted PV projects that could be associated with storage and self-consumption for industrial facilities.

The construction team is composed of an expert in PV construction, a civil expert, and an experienced design engineer. A junior engineer would reinforce soon the team, and we are now looking here for an Experienced Construction Solar Project Manager to support our growth.

The role is to :
- Bring additional construction expertise to the team
- Manage project under construction (from detailed design/tendering to COD)

- Be the privilege point of contact with Owner

Depending on your abilities, additional expertise on design and/or development would be appreciated.

Site visits are expected, occasionally abroad, but most of the work is at the office.

This is a technical role but the ability to work with clients and interface seamlessly with an internal team is essential.

The candidate is expected to have the required technical skills for the role such as, tender support, site supervision/construction monitoring.
Our ideal candidate would be an experienced project manager for an EPC looking for a change, but we are flexible in the level of previous experience. You will be mainly dedicated to the construction team, but if you are interested in developing new skills, internal mentoring can be provided according to the profile/experience of the selected candidate. We can consider candidates from other industries looking for a move into renewables, but construction expertise in this case is fundamental.

Main Tasks :

Development support: provide technical support to Solar Project Owners along the different phases of the project (design, permitting, tendering for construction).
Construction monitoring: You will (a) supervise the construction and carry out quality control to ensure construction works run smoothly and on time (b) control internal costs to make sure the job is done within the budget agreed with the client.
Coordinate: ensure coordination of the various project stakeholders (clients, external service providers, subcontractors, etc.).

○ As experienced construction engineer
Bring technical support to the construction team on projects you do not manage.
Be one of the main contributors to EPC tendering and construction monitoring processes / tools in line with the company knowledge management process (ISO 9001)
Be familiar with the main national and international standards applicable to PV plants and propose any optimisation/adjustments to existing internal methods and processes.

Depending on your profile, you could participate in other tasks such as

Business development: attend events, contact clients, receive and manage customer requests for support.

Commercial: prepare and support leads and proposals.

It is also expected from every people to participate actively in our process improvement and constantly expand our common knowledge database. Knowledge management is a pillar of our CLIENT and each collaborator must be involved in the process. Time is dedicated each week to this task.

Education : Educational background in engineering, ideally civil or electrical engineering.

Languages : Fluent in English and French, Portuguese is a bonus.

Technical skills:

Experience in the construction of PV projects and EPC contracts.
Technical review of drawings, documents, for compliance with standards/contractual requirements.

Project management skills.
Good writing skills, ability to write technical reports and commercial offers.

Soft skills:
Team spirit and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Rigorous in the follow-up of documentation review, respect of deadlines, quality and costs.

Organised and able to manage several projects at the same time.
