Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Project Cost Controller to support APX EMEA FEED and early-stage projects by developing and analyzing cost performance in line with Project Controls standards. You will work with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting across multiple projects.

The role requires 5+ years in cost control on complex projects, strong budgeting and forecasting skills, and a solid understanding of EVM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Cost Control experience on complex engineering, energy, nuclear, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, commitments management, actual cost tracking, ETC/EAC development, variance analysis, and project cost control principles.
  • Experience with FEED or early-stage project development is preferred.
  • Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), cost and schedule integration, and Project Controls processes.

Responsabilités

  • Establish and maintain project cost control structures, budgets, commitments, actual costs, ETC, and EAC.
  • Coordinate cost inputs across Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and other project functions for accurate cost information.
  • Perform cost performance and variance analysis, challenge ETC/EAC forecasts and validate assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain cost forecasts, identify risks, opportunities, and potential impacts.
  • Provide cost performance reporting and early warning indicators for informed decision-making.
  • Ensure integration between cost, schedule, change management, risk management, and other Project Controls disciplines.
  • Support baseline development, reviews, and maintenance throughout the lifecycle.
  • Support implementation and improvement of Project Controls standards, processes, tools, and reporting across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to Earned Value Management (EVM) processes by supporting cost performance measurement and forecasting.

About The Role

The Project Cost Controller will support APX EMEA FEED and early-stage projects by developing, maintaining, and analysing project cost performance in accordance with Project Controls standards and procedures. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and other stakeholders, this role ensures accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and effective control of project financial performance. As part of the EMEA Project Controls organisation, the successful candidate may support multiple projects across the APX portfolio based on business priorities and project workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain project cost control structures, budgets, commitments, actual costs, Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
  • Coordinate cost inputs across Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and other project functions to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely project cost information.
  • Perform cost performance analysis, variance analysis, and trend reviews, challenging ETC and EAC forecasts and validating underlying assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain project cost forecasts, identifying emerging trends, risks, opportunities, and potential impacts to project budgets and financial objectives.
  • Provide cost performance reporting and early warning indicators to support informed project decision-making.
  • Ensure effective integration between cost, schedule, change management, risk management, and other Project Controls disciplines.
  • Support project baseline development, reviews, and maintenance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of Project Controls standards, processes, tools, and reporting methodologies across the EMEA portfolio.
  • Contribute to Earned Value Management (EVM) processes by supporting cost performance measurement, forecasting, and analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of Cost Control or Project Controls experience within complex engineering, energy, nuclear, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, commitments management, actual cost tracking, ETC/EAC development, variance analysis, and project cost control principles.
  • Experience supporting FEED, engineering, or early-stage project development activities is preferred.
  • Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), cost and schedule integration, and Project Controls processes and systems.
Preferred Certifications
  • AACE Cost Engineering or Project Controls Certifications
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Other relevant Project Controls, Cost Engineering, or Project Management certifications
Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Project Controls/Cost Management tools.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, including cost actuals, commitments, project financial reporting, and cost tracking processes.
  • Strong understanding of cost forecasting, financial analysis, cost performance measurement, and EVM principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience implementing and improving Project Controls tools, processes, dashboards, and reporting solutions across complex project environments.
