HNTB seeks a Customer Service Processing Technician Team Leader to join our team. This on-site role at the NCDOT Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit in Garner, NC involves leading a team, processing permit applications, and using mapping tools to ensure safe routing.

The position emphasizes strong communication, training, and PCI-compliant operations, with standard 8–5, Mon–Fri hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 4 years relevant experience.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily assignments and information processing technicians; review analyses to ensure the best solution.
• Evaluate routing for specialty vehicles requiring permits.
• Use mapping software to analyze maps, bridge weight, and clearance data; interpret truck route ordinances.
• Process transportation permit applications for the appropriate agency.
• Develop and provide office dashboard metrics.
• Train employees and support their development, and provide feedback to the Project Manager.
• Maintain PCI training standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Are you interested in being a part of a highly motivated team that focuses on providing safe and efficient routing for the trucking/transportation industry? We’re seeking a Customer Service Processing Technician Team Leader to join the HNTB team. This is a customer service-focused position located on-site at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit in Garner, North Carolina. The work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Primary Focus

• Providing excellent customer service
• Utilizing mapping and other software applications
• Processing phone and online permit applications for NCDOT Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for daily assignments and oversight of information processing technicians. Reviews analysis and evaluations to ensure the best solution. Handles escalated inquiries through to resolution.
• Evaluates the state highway system infrastructure for proposed routing of specialty vehicles requiring permits such as oversize and/or overweight trucks.
• Utilizes mapping and other software applications to analyze and evaluate maps, bridge weight, and clearance data. Interprets truck route ordinance and establishes safe routing for vehicle/vehicle combinations in partnership with industry professionals.
• Processes transportation permit applications for appropriate agency.
• Develops and provides metric updates for the office dashboard.
• Trains employees and assists with their development, and provides feedback to the Project Manager on performance.
• Maintains up-to-date training for Purchase Card Industry (PCI) standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned
