CNRS – Centre de recherche sur les liens sociaux invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in anthropology to design and conduct the multi-sited ethnographic study titled “The (Im)possibility of Movement” as part of the Art-e-Fact program. The project will involve fieldwork in Arab and European countries with the Palestinian diaspora, employing classic ethnography and visual methods.

Qualifications

• Theoretical and practical expertise in the anthropology of the Arab world.
• Language skills: fluency in Syrian-Lebanese Arabic, French, and English
• Experience with ethnographic research methods, preferably with prior fieldwork experience on the subject
• At least two years of postdoctoral experience abroad
• Experience with visual and creative practices applied to ethnographic research

Responsabilités

• Conducting a multi-sited ethnographic ethnographic case study titled “The (Im)possibility of movement”
• Producing multimodal materials derived from the research, which will be made available through the program's digital library
• Co-organizing “Thinking-Through-Creating Workshops” with the project coordinator
