ESSEC Business School invites applications for a 21-month Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Department of Law, Political Science and Society, focusing on leveraging cybersecurity to detect illegal behavior and enforce data protection in the agricultural industry. Location is Cergy, France, with a full-time fixed-term contract starting November 1, 2026.

The candidate should hold or be near completion of a PhD in related fields and demonstrate qualitative research expertise, English

Qualifications

• Profile: early-career scholar with strong research orientation.
• Language: professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Technical: proven capacity to collect and analyze qualitative data.

Responsabilités

• Engage in systematic review of literature addressing illicit behaviors in plant material and IPRs.
• Develop a database to map illegal behaviors in the agricultural seed sector.
• Conduct interviews with farmers, nurseries, agronomists, and sector associations across Europe.
