Job summary

The CNRS Laboratoire d'Annecy de Physique des Particules (LAPP) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in its Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory group to work on pulsars and millisecond pulsars with very-high-energy gamma rays. The successful candidate will play a leading role in exploiting stereoscopic LST data for pulsar and MSP science, in the context of CTAO development.

The candidate will lead observation programs, develop GammaLearn usage for LST-4, and pioneer SBI approaches

Qualifications

• PhD in astroparticle physics, astrophysics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in data science, machine learning, or SBI.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the exploitation of LST data for pulsar and MSP science.
• Develop and lead an observation program targeting pulsar and MSP candidates.
• Contribute to the GammaLearn framework and to SBI method development for the Galactic Center region.
• Collaborate with groups across LAPP, LAPTh, IPAG and LPC2E to deliver scientific results.
