ASNR invites a post-doctoral researcher to study CHM behaviour of sand-rich bentonite-sand mixtures within EURAD-2 and ANCHORS projects. The project will use MX80-type materials with high sand contents and explore hydration, chemical perturbations and gas transfer, across scales.

The candidate will perform HM experiments, in situ micro-CT, and microstructural characterization, contributing to modelling approaches for safety assessment of geological disposal facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil Geotechnical Engineering with clay geomaterials focus.
• Advanced skills in micro-CT and image analysis.
• Experience in testing geomaterials under coupled HM conditions.

Responsabilités

• Investigate bentonite-sand mixtures under hydraulic, chemical and gas loadings.
• Develop and apply image analysis tools for segmentation of phases.
• Coordinate microstructural and mineralogical analyses (XRD, SEM/EDS, BET).
