CY Cergy Paris University is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for the CY-Chain project for a 12-month part-time contract.The candidate will have defended their thesis on a subject related to either French contract law or digital law. Cross-disciplinary subjects will be particularly appreciated.
The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with the project's legal scholars and researchers, in particular its coordinator, Prof. Patrick Barban. CY Chain is a winning project in the CY Initiative competition hosted by the LEJEP Research Centre from CY Paris Cergy University. CY-Chain aims to develop software for transcribing contractual clauses on a blockchain platform and to conduct a prospective analysis in monetary law on central bank digital currencies and cryptocurrencies. The candidate will be required to conduct research on contract law, crypto-assets and cryptocurrencies. They will be required to write reports, liaise with researchers from other disciplines, participate in the writing of academic articles and assist in the organisation of scientific events.
The candidate will demonstrate their ability to conduct complex research and synthesise their thoughts. They will be able to work as part of a team with other researchers and under the supervision of the professor in charge of the project.
Additional skills in economics and/or computer science will be an advantage.

Specific Requirements
Teamwork will involve collaboration with the project's economists and IT specialists. Close collaboration with other contract researchers is expected. The candidate will be expected to work independently on complex topics requiring research and conceptualisation skills. However, teamwork is also expected.
