Université de Bordeaux recrute un/une post-doctorant(e) pour l’analyse de données génétiques dans le cadre du projet GenoMorph, basé à Pessac. Vous analyserez des données génétiques de centaines d’individus et les couplerez à des données morphométriques CBCT sur les dents, en collaboration avec des spécialistes en génétique et paléoanthropologie.

Le candidat doit posséder un doctorat en génétique/paleogénétique, démontrer des compétences en analyses biostatistiques et en traitement de données

Qualifications

• Docteur en génétique ou paleogénétique required.
• Expérience avérée dans le traitement de données génétiques.
• Maîtrise de l’anglais dans un contexte multiculturel.

Responsabilités

• Analyser les données génétiques de plusieurs centaines d’individus et les corréler avec des données morphométriques CBCT.
• Identifier de nouveaux gènes candidats liés à la morphologie et structure dentaires.
• Développer une méthodologie d’analyse combinée génétique et morphométrique.
• Formuler des inférences sur le génotype à partir du phénotype des spécimens du registre paléoanthropologique.
• Si nécessaire, traiter et analyser des données 3D issues des scans.

Join the From Prehistory to the Present: Culture, Environment and Anthropology laboratory ( PACEA )! It is a joint research unit attached to the CNRS, the University of Bordeaux and the Ministry of Culture. At the interface of biological, environmental and human sciences, its work addresses major questions related to the factors that have shaped humanity, enabling our ancestors to settle on all continents thanks to adaptive capacities whose diversity we are currently exploring.

As part of the project GenoMorph, funded by the National Research Agency, we are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher in genetic data analysis W/M.

This project, led by Clément Zanolli, aims to build genotype-phenotype reference models and test evolutionary hypotheses on the human lineage. The analysis of genetic data and its integration with morphometric data will lead to the writing of research articles that will be submitted to scientific journals for publication.
Your research mission will be to analyze the DNA of several hundred humans for whom CBCT scans of these individuals' teeth are available. You will therefore be in charge of genetic analysis, including selection, cleansing and development of a genetic database.

You will work in collaboration with other researchers involved in this project to combine molecular and morphometric data.

Your goal will be to submit an article for publication.

• You process and analyze genetic data
• You identify new candidate genes related to dental morphology and structure
• You are developing a methodology for the combined analysis of genetic and morphometric data
• You make inferences about the genotype based on the phenotype of specimens from the paleoanthropological register.
• Depending on your experience, you may be required to process and analyze 3D data from scans.

The + of this position: possible collaborations at the national and international level

Holder of a PhD in in Genetics, Paleogenetics or related field, you have proven experience in the processing of genetic data. You are a specialist in the processing and analysis of genetic data to study DNA data from several hundred current humans and analyze them in tandem with morphometric data from CBCT scans of teeth.

• You are methodological and rigorous
• You demonstrate organization and know how to handle tasks simultaneously
• You are proficient in biostatistical analyses
• You ideally have skills in processing and analyzing 3D data from scans
• You are proficient in English in a multicultural work context

More information

You will be attached to the EVODIBIO team. You will be able to exchange and collaborate with specialists from different disciplines including (paleo)genetics, paleoanthropology and archaeology. No specific duty or on-call duty is planned for this assignment. The activity is mainly carried out in laboratory and within the framework of planned scientific collaborations.

Based in Pessac - access to tram B (stop Doyen Brus) bus, bike.

The laboratory is near the city-centre of Bordeaux and about 60 Km of the Atlantic coasts. Travel will be planned within and outside Europe for international scientific conferences communicating the results of the project.

Specific requirements: You’ll have to comply with the Working Laws in France

Gross monthly salary: from 2750 € to 3000 € according to grid and experience
