Inria Paris's COSMIQ team invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to advance fault-tolerant quantum computing. You will work with Michael Vasmer and interact with leading researchers such as Anthony Leverrier and Jean-Pierre Tillich, contributing to high-impact quantum error correction, decoding, and fault-tolerant architectures.
The fixed-term position runs for 2 years starting January 2027, with strong support including a laptop, HPC access, travel funds, and generous leave.
The COSMIQ team at Inria Paris is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to cutting-edge research in fault-tolerant quantum computing. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Michael Vasmer, and have the opportunity to interact with other permanent researchers, including Anthony Leverrier and Jean-Pierre Tillich. You will also engage with the vibrant Paris quantum information ecosystem, which boasts a high concentration of talented researchers in academia and industry. COSMIQ has ongoing projects with leading companies including Alice&Bob, Pasqal, Quandela, and Riverlane.
This is a fixed-term position for 2 years, with a state date of January 1 2027.
Fault-tolerant quantum computation is key in the quest to build a large-scale quantum computer. Recent advances in high-rate codes like low-density parity-check codes have begun to reduce the resource requirements for fault-tolerant systems, but there is still much to do. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will conduct research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing, with opportunities to explore topics such as:
Your work will strengthen COSMIQ’s reputation for high-quality research in quantum error correction and fault tolerance, shaping the future of quantum technology.
Conduct independent and collaborative research in fault-tolerant quantum computation Publish in leading journals and present at international conferences Actively participate in team activities and collaborations
