A leading research organization in France is looking for a Researcher in the field of optoelectronic devices. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Physics or Chemistry-Physics and will be responsible for preparing devices based on 2D chiral halide perovskites and analyzing their performance related to spin polarization. Strong knowledge in light polarization and electric current spin polarization is essential. The role involves writing research papers and participating in conferences, contributing to cutting-edge research in spintronic devices. Offer starting date is March 1, 2026.
Organisation/Company CNRS Department MOLTECH-Anjou Research Field Chemistry » Physical chemistry Chemistry » Computational chemistry Researcher Profile First Stage Researcher (R1) Country France Application Deadline 24 Dec 2025 - 23:59 (UTC) Type of Contract Temporary Job Status Full-time Hours Per Week 35 Offer Starting Date 1 Mar 2026 Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No
The duties assigned to the recruited person will consist of:
Find device architecture in order to (i) measure the CISS effect and (ii) build Spin‑LEDs based on chiral halide perovskites and organic emitting materials (choice of electrodes, electron and hole transporting layers, and emitting layer depending on the selected perovskite).
The MOLTECH-Anjou Laboratory (a joint CNRS-University of Angers research unit) brings together the expertise of 80 people, including nearly 50 CNRS researchers, academic researchers, engineers, and technical staff, as well as around 30 doctoral and post‑doctoral researchers. The scientific activity of the MOLTECH-Anjou Laboratory focuses on the development of molecular materials, whether organic or hybrid organic‑inorganic, supporting high‑visibility research areas such as organic electronics, stimuli‑responsive materials, nanostructuring, and materials for energy. Six research teams combine their expertise in theoretical and computational chemistry, organic and inorganic synthesis, coordination and supramolecular chemistry, physical and analytical chemistry, materials design, and photonics. Five teams are affiliated with the CNRS National Institute of Chemistry (INC), while the sixth is part of the CNRS National Institute of Physics (CIMI – ECHO – KEMTRONIX – PulSAr – VoltEdge – SAMSON).
The selected candidate will work in the frame of the ANR JCJC project ChiroSpin for the CIMI Team. This project aims to understand the chemical and structural parameters that can influence the electron's spin polarization in chiral halide perovskites, and to use this property in spintronic devices in order to improve quantum efficiency and control light and current polarization.
The candidate must hold a PhD in Physics or Chemistry‑Physics. The candidate must be motivated by research, and should have solid knowledge in physics of optoelectronic devices, a good knowledge and interest for light polarization (CD, CPL) and electric current spin polarization (CISS effect, spintronic devices). The candidate should be able to present the results of the project (a good level of English knowledge is required). Other skills such as thin film surface analysis (profilometry, AFM) and chiroptical methods will be highly appreciated.
