Job summary

Renaissance Fusion, based in Fontaine (near Grenoble), seeks a polishing engineer/technician for a temporary autumn 2026 – February 2027 assignment. You will define technical polishing solutions, select appropriate polishing technologies, and commission and maintain the polishing system to meet surface roughness targets.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in material engineering or equivalent technician experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in at least two polishing techniques (mechanical, electropolishing, laser).
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Define technical solutions to meet process engineers’ specifications.
• Select polishing technologies to achieve target surface roughness.
• Commission and maintain the polishing system.
• Optimize the polishing process to reach required roughness and yield.
• System troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with process engineer responsible for physical vapor deposition.
• Set target surface roughness and other specs.
• Analyze data and write reports.
